Alteymour WWTP financed by IDB

With more than 3 million people, Mashhad is the second largest city in Iran. A city for religious tourism attracting more than 33 million visitors per year. One of the main municipal problems in Mashhad is the lack of irrigation water and pollution of the Kashafrood river due to the discharge of significant quantities of untreated waste water into the river. Moreover, the existing waste water treatment plant’s capacity was just 100,000 m3/day, inadequate for a city of this size. These issues have required the municipality to expand the city’s waste water transfer networks and treatment plants.

Given the importance of Mashhad city because of its religious background and tourist attraction, Mashhad water & waste water company received a loan from Islamic Development Bank (IDB) for the implementation of this project.

Sadrab Sanat Co, one of the well-known water and waste water contractors in Iran entered this project as Kayson's sub- contractor for procurements and installations of Electromechanical equipments.
